Artelo tested ART27.13 in the diet-induced obesity mouse model used across the industry.

Artelo Biosciences (ARTL) said a nonclinical study of its oral, once-daily drug candidate ART27.13 produced weight loss comparable to semaglutide in obese mice, and roughly doubled that weight loss when the two were given together. In the diet-induced obesity model, ART27.13 as a monotherapy cut body weight from baseline by about 20% over four weeks, while the combination with semaglutide reached about 40% – bringing the animals to the body weight of lean, normal-weight controls.
