Northrop Grumman (NOC) and the U.S. Air Force have fully assembled the Sentinel intercontinental ballistic missile in its operational, vertical orientation for the first time, the company said. The inert missile was stacked and de-stacked on a test pad at Vandenberg Space Force Base as part of a four-month exercise known as Pathfinder, a step the company describes as a major move toward the missile's design and suitability evaluation for a flight test in 2027.
