VIKING THERAPEUTICS (VKTX) Says VK2735 Holds Weight Loss on Monthly Dosing
Maintenance study shows patients kept up to 97% of weight loss on every-other-week dosing and up to 90% on monthly dosing, with GI side effects near placebo.
Viking Therapeutics (VKTX) reported positive top-line results from the maintenance study of VK2735, its dual GLP-1/GIP receptor agonist, showing that patients who switched from weekly injections to every-other-week or monthly dosing kept most of the weight they had lost. Subjects on every-other-week regimens maintained up to 97% of the weight loss achieved during the weekly induction phase, and those on monthly regimens up to 90%, against 61% for patients moved to placebo.
